Official GED® Testing

Interested in taking the GED® test?

The updated GED® test took effect in January 2014. The new assessment measures high school equivalency skills and assesses career and college readiness. The test is computer-based and includes the following subjects:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Registration for the GED® test is available on-line only through the website.  The cost of the test is $120 for the complete test battery or $30 for each individual subject.

Where can I test? The Henrico Adult Education Center located at 201 E. Nine Mile Rd. in Highland Springs serves as an authorized location to deliver the GED® test. On-line pre-registration is required.

How do I Register? Test-takers should visit to create an account, register for the test, check available testing dates, locate other authorized testing centers, request an official GED® transcript, and more! This website is your one-stop resource for GED® testing information.

In addition to GED® testing, Pearson VUE delivers a full suite of certification, admissions and licensure examinations for a variety of information technology, academic, government and professional testing programs.
