What is the GED test?

The GED assessment measures high school equivalency skills and assesses career and college readiness. The test is computer-based and includes:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts.

  • Mathematics.

  • Science.

  • Social Studies.

How much does the GED test cost?

There is one test for each subject listed above. The initial cost of each is $36. (Price effective July 1, 2023.) Should students need to retake tests, there will be additional fees.

How do I register for the GED test?

Registration for the GED test is available online only. Test-takers should visit GED.com to register for the test, check available testing dates and locate an authorized testing center.

How do I get a GED transcript?

Visit ged.com and request transcripts.

Where can I take the GED test?

The test can be taken at any authorized testing center. The Henrico Adult Education Center at 201 E. Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs is an authorized testing center. The Henrico Adult Education Center at Regency Mall, 1420 N. Parham Road is also an authorized testing center.
