What is the GED Test?

The GED assessment measures high school equivalency skills and assesses career and college readiness. The test is computer-based and includes the following subjects:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

How much does the GED Test cost?

There is one test for each subject listed above. Each initially cost $36.00. (Price effective July 1, 2023.) Should re-takes be necessary, there will be additional fees.

How do I register for the GED Test?

Registration for the GED test is available online ONLY. Test-takers should visit GED.com to register for the test, check available testing dates, and locate an authorized testing center.

Where can I take the GED Test?

The test can be taken at any authorized testing center. The Henrico Adult Education Center at 201 E. Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs, VA is an authorized testing center.
