Behavioral Health Interpreter Course

This 48-hour training is for bilingual students who want to gain entry-level skills towards becoming a qualified professional behavioral health interpreter.

Graduates of this course are parallel to a professional medical interpreter, and they can do contract work or become freelance interpreters.

This training will allow students to use their linguistic skills to become trained interpreters in behavioral health settings. Participants must be at a Level 4 and above in their Adult Education English Language Acquisition Class (ELA); Participant must be proficient in at least one other language other than English; prior experience as an interpreter is not required. The training is taught by two highly skilled, experienced instructors who provide a dynamic learning environment which keeps participants actively engaged. Training is provided onsite for up to 35 individuals.

No classes in the week of November 20 for Thanksgiving.

Course Certificate
